ANCUK tournament’s 2017 had the opportunity to do this year’s draw at the lovely and friendly Levi Roots Caribbean Smokehouse Restaurant in Westfield Strartford.



The draw was introduced by Mr John Fayika International Football Developer for African Football Association (AFA) and ANCUK. It was conducted by Marshall Gore and Daniel Lutaaya with the special guest collaborations of Mr. Ambrose Mendy, Mr Eroll Mckellar founder of MOT Yourself and Prostate Cancer Embassador, and Mr. Levi Roots owner of the restaurant.
















The event also counted with the presence of sponsors such as Prostate Cancer, Terrence Higgins Trust foundation and Royal Air Maroc . Mr. Abderrahim Beyyoudh General Counsul of Kingdom of Morocco also assisted the event along with other press and media channels.



The tournament will be played by 20 countries in open age classification (over 18 years of age) which are: Ghana (defending champions), Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Morocco, Angola, Botswana, Cameroon, Uganda, South Africa, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Sao Tomé and Príncipe, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, Somaliland, Guinea Bissau, Madagascar, Zambia, Liberia and Guinea Conakry. Additionally, 5 teams under 17 (youth teams) will be participating, which are: the defending champion Zimbabwe, Morocco, Ghana, Angola and Brazil.

The opening ceremony will be the 1st July and the final the 15th July.





During the event also was raised the awareness of Prostate Cancer through his Embassador Eroll Mckellar and the importance of being checked in order to identify any problem the soonest, encouraging men to have the PSA test done with a simple blood test. The risk of suffering it increases when men are over 50 years of age and gradually while they are getting older. 1 in 4 black men will suffer from Prostate Cancer at some point in their lives and it is important to get this test done.

Terrence Higgins Trust also raised their awareness about HIV. The organization was supporting African Nations Cup UK tournaments since 2006 and they have seen how the events have grown over the time.

Royal Air Maroc is supporting ANCUK for a second consecutive year helping unite destinations from all over Africa.

The atmosphere during the event was exciting, the restaurant was beautifully decorated with a Caribbean background music. The representatives from countries as Cameroon, Uganda, Ghana and Zimbabwe were also present and we all enjoyed a delicious Caribbean meal which worth taste with the famous BBQ Levi Roots sauce.
